paripā́ṇaṃ púruṣāṇāṃ paripā́ṇaṃ gávāṃ asi |
áśvānām árvatām paripā́ṇāya tasthiṣe ||2||
Protection (paripā́ṇa) of men (púruṣa), protection of kine art thou; in order to the protection of coursing (árvant) horses hast thou stood.
