varṇatrayātmakāḥ proktā recapūrakakumbhakāḥ |
sa eṣa praṇavaḥ proktaḥ prāṇāyāmaśca tanmayaḥ || 2 ||
Exhalation, inhalation, and retention are taught as having the nature of the three syllables; / that is taught as the Praṇava, and breath control consists of that. || 2
