atha yas tat kariṣyan bhavati, paścād agner udagagreṣu darbheṣu prāṅ upaviśati.

He who is going to perform (that ceremony—the father or a representative of the father), sits down to the west of the fire on northward-pointed Darbha grass, facing the east.
