āciriyaviruttam of seven-foot long lines.
Lord of the mountain of Aruṇai, who, so that Ayaṉ might remain and Hari might survive,
placed the poison as a black mark upon his throat!
O cranes, who feign sleep, with your long bodies remaining motionless,
seeking the carp in the sacred river,
go to the presence of the Lord, and tell him
that in my two eyes there is no sleep!
