الفارسي: حلت البركة، قدومك مبارك أجمع خاطرك، أعمل معك من المراحم وأعطيك من الإنعام ما يسمع به أهل بلادك فياتون إليك. ثم سألني عن بلادي فقلت له: بلاد المغرب، فقال لي: بلاد عبد المؤمن ؟ فقلت له: نعم. وكان كلما قال لي كلاما جيدا قبلت يده حتى قبلتها سبع مرات، وخلع علي وانصرفت.

Persian language: "Blessing has descended; your coming is blessed; set your mind at rest. I shall show you such favours and grant you such bounties that the people of your country will hear of it and come to you." Then he asked me about my country, and I said to him: "The land of the Maghrib." He said to me: "The land of ʿAbd al-Muʾmin?" I said to him: "Yes." Every time he said a kind word to me I kissed his hand, until I had kissed it seven times; he bestowed a robe of honour on me and I withdrew.
