القاف الثاني وآخره طاء مهمل، وهي إحدى البنادر العظام ببلاد المليبار، يقصدها أهل الصين والجاوة، وسيلان، والمهل، وأهل اليمن وفارس ويجتمع بها تجار الآفاق. ومرساها من أعظم مراسي الدنيا .

the second qaf, and ending in undotted ta. It is one of the great ports of the land of Mulaybār; the people of China, the Jāwa, Saylān, al-Mahal, Yemen and Fārs come to it, and the merchants of every region gather there. Its harbour is one of the greatest harbours in the world.
