DETAILS OF A HOUSE—An idea of the construction of a house may be obtained from several references in the *Śālā-sūkta* of the Atharvaveda (9. 3. 3). The first fact is that even houses of big dimensions were constructed of timber (यस्त्वा शाले निमिमाय स जभार वनस्पतीन, 9. 3. 11.). This was the material of which the ideal house of Parameshṭhī Prajāpati was made and the same model was adopted by human beings (*Prajāyai chakre*).
