⁸⁵⁴ नैगम is defined by षट्त्रिंशन्मत as follows: पौरुषेयतया वेदं प्रामाण्यं (वेद-प्रामाण्यं ?) प्रवदन्ति ये । तेषां वैशेषिकादीनां नैगमाख्या प्रकीर्त्यते ॥ q. by व्यव. नि. p. 13. But this sense is not appropriate here. The same work (p. 14) quotes कात्यायन's definition which is more appropriate 'नानापौरसमाजस्तु नैगमाख्यः प्रकीर्तितः ।।'
