There was, again, an officer charged with the regulation of currency, the *Rūpadarśaka*. He had to realize the following Mint charges, viz., *Rūpika*, a seignorage of 8 per cent ; *Vyāji*, 5 per cent, the profit accruing to government from the use of special weights and measures for the public; *Pārīkshika*, an assaying fee of ⅛ *paṇa* per cent.
