Factory sites of the Lower Palaeolithic industries are known from LALITPUR, ANAGWADI, GANGAPUR, CHIRKI (Joshi & Marathe, 1975), NEVASA, etc., close to the rivers Shahzad, GHATAPRABHA, GODAVARI and PRAVARA. LALITPUR is a surface site, while ANAGWADI, GANGAPUR, CHIRKI, NEVASA and HUNSGI are stratified sites.
