4.3.2 *Vindhyan region*. Remains of the Middle Palaeolithic man are found in parts of Malwa, Bundelkhand and various Dts of Madhya Pradesh and s. Uttar Pradesh. From the Malwa plateau which is drained by the rivers CHAMBAL and Shivna three noteworthy implementiferous localities, MANDSAUR, KHADKI and NALGARH are reported (Khatri, 1957, 1958). The artefacts are preponderatingly side scrapers and points and are made of jasper nodules. Besides end scrapers are also fairly well-represented. The Clactonian technique [16.15.1] for detaching flakes prevails, with a complete absence of Levallois elements.
