v1.c15.s7.8
It is noticed that the technique of manufacturing shell objects, carnelian beads and Black-and-Red pottery as well as the technology of inverted firing from the Banas culture (Ahar) and these traditions were gradually transmitted towards Navdatoli, Maheshwar and Atranji-khera, (Sankalia et al. 1969: 219-230). It is thus clear that the metal smelting traditions in the Ganga-Yamuna valley grew during c. 1700-1300 BC with the assistance of smelters migrating from the Banas region such as Ahar.
