v1.c16.1
In this chapter our main topic of discussion will be the late Chalcolithic Cultures of India in the area extending between the Central India, Maharasthra and the Deccan. After the Harappans, we find here the emergence of at least three chalcolithic cultures which covered a period of more than thousand years. These three cultures had their typical pottery and other material remains. After a first-hand study of these sites it is generally observed that these cultures were well-developed and they had good internal connections among them, and also with other contemporary cultures of India. Not only this, to some extent the Harappan influence has also been noticed here.
