To study about these cultures, we will mainly follow Agarwal and Chakrabarti (1979:375) who have categorised these cultures in three broad groups (with sub-divisions among them) according to their chronology. These are Kayatha Culture (2000-1800 BC), Malwa Culture (1700-1400 BC) and Jorwe Culture (1400-900 BC). Under these headings, there are few sites which we would comment upon in some detail.
