The dialogue hymns of *Ṛgveda* have ample elements of debate. In the “Hymn of Yama and Yamī” (X.10), the dialogue between a brother and a sister turn on the propriety of incestuous relations. Yama counters each and every statement of Yamī. In the hymn on Purūravas and Urvaśī (X.95) all the points raised by Purūravas are countered by Urvaśī.
