The concept of *brahmodya* is spelled out in the dialogue between Śauceya and Uddālaka Āruṇi. Śauceya approached the Sage Uddālaka and told him that he wants to know about *brahmodya*. He asks many questions about *brahmodya* to the seer, to which the latter replies. After every answer, he goes on saying “now I understand”.¹³
