Dṛḍhavīrya Bodhisattva further wished to explain: "The wondrous practices of a bodhisattva comprise four things. What are the four? First, may I always be born in Buddha-less worlds, like the sun and moon traversing Jambudvīpa to dispel its darkness. Second, may I be like a golden probe that pierces the film over their eyes, causing them to behold light. Third, may I become a great medicinal tree, such that all sentient beings who catch its fragrance have their painful illnesses eradicated. Fourth, may I constantly proclaim the Dharma like falling Dharma rain, causing sprouts to grow and mature into fruit, and causing all to produce the mind of unsurpassed bodhi. These are the four great universal vows of a bodhisattva."
