8.42
什曰：師子度水要截流直度，曲則不度。此大士以實智慧，深入諸法，直過彼岸，故借以為名也。
[Kumāra]jīva says: When a lion crosses the water, it must cut across the current and cross straight; if it turns obliquely it will not cross. This mahāsattva uses real wisdom to penetrate deeply into all dharmas and pass straight to the other shore; hence this name is borrowed for him.
