The next section. "Possessing precious objects": the vinaya lists gold, silver, pearls, and the like, thereby referring to the woman by means of ornaments adorning the body. Citing the treatise to elucidate the intent is apparent. In the vinaya's non-offenses: if stretching the hand and sitting at a place reaching the door (if one is inside and cannot reach it, it is an offense); if accompanied by two bhikṣus; if there is a person of discernment or a guest in the same place (based on this, it extends to laypeople); if not blind or deaf (if either is missing, a duṣkṛta; if both are missing, they are not witnesses); or passing in front without staying (a place where many people walk); or an onset of illness causing one to fall to the ground; being held by superior force; conditions of danger to life or celibacy, and so on—all are permitted.
