大德一心念！我某甲，今求大德為依止，願大德與我依止，我依止大德住。（三說。報言：）可爾。（或言：）與汝依止。（或言：）汝莫放逸。（闍梨行法，並同和上。）

"May the Bhadanta focus his mind! I, [name], now ask the Bhadanta to be my reliance. May the Bhadanta grant me reliance, and I will dwell relying upon the Bhadanta." (To be said three times. The response is:) "It is permissible." (Or:) "I grant you reliance." (Or:) "Do not be heedless." (The conduct of an ācārya is entirely the same as that of an upādhyāya.)
