與草覆地毘尼法（諸比丘作念：「我曹多犯眾戒，非沙門法，亦作亦說，出入無限。若我曹還自共善問此事，或能令此諍事轉深重，經歷年月，不得如法、如毘尼、如佛所教滅除諍事，令僧不得安樂。」佛言：「應滅此諍，猶如草覆地。」）

Procedure for granting the Covering-with-Grass Vinaya (tṛṇaprastāraka-vinaya): (The bhikṣus thought: "We have committed many precepts contrary to the standard of a śramaṇa, both acting and speaking, going in and out without limit. If we were to cross-examine one another about these matters in detail, it might cause this dispute to become increasingly grave, lasting for months and years, so that we cannot extinguish the dispute in accordance with the Dharma, the Vinaya, and what the Buddha taught, causing the saṃgha not to have peace." The Buddha said: "You should extinguish this dispute just as grass covers the ground.")
