僧今何所作為？（然所為事有其三種：一為情事，如受懺等。二為非情事，如結諸界。三情非情事，如處分、離衣等。此所為事委僧量宜，故須對眾問其所作。）

What does the saṃgha now intend to do? (Now, matters to be undertaken are of three kinds: first, matters concerning sentient beings, such as receiving confessions; second, matters concerning non-sentient things, such as establishing various sīmās; third, matters concerning both sentient and non-sentient things, such as assignments and separation from robes. Since these matters to be undertaken are entrusted to the saṃgha to assess what is appropriate, one must ask before the assembly what is to be done.)
