Fifth is the dedication of the inexhaustible treasury of merit. Cultivating the roots of goodness of repentance and abandoning all karmic obstacles, one rejoices in all the roots of goodness acquired by the buddhas of the three periods of time from their initial aspiration up to their attainment of buddhahood and manifestation of nirvāṇa, and even rejoices in all roots of goodness of sentient beings throughout the three periods of time. Due to rejoicing with roots of goodness, all merit is inexhaustible, and afterward one attains the dedication of the ten kinds of inexhaustible treasuries of merit. Therefore, the fifth is abandoning the obstacle of distraction from conforming to non-Buddhist treatises and cultivating the practice of departure from them; this is the fifth dedication, because all faults are repented and karmic obstacles are entirely abandoned.
