Ninth is the unbonded and unattached dedication. Toward all roots of goodness, one does not generate a slighting mind; one does not disparage the mind of escaping saṃsāra, and so on; toward all roots of goodness, one always delights in embracing them, firm and indestructible; with an unbonded and unattached liberated mind, one fulfills the dedication of roots of goodness. Up to abiding in this dedication, all vajra mountains cannot destroy it, all māras cannot destroy it; one is completely able to destroy the evil karmas of all māras, and completely attains hearing and upholding the buddhas' teachings of the three periods of time. Always free from defiled attachment, one attains the practice of Samantabhadra, fulfills all vows, and all cultivated merits are not for oneself, but for others, dedicating with an unbonded, unattached, liberated mind to benefit all sentient beings; this is named the unattached mind dedication. Therefore, the eighth is abandoning the obstacle of relishing indolence, gain, and the like, cultivating the practice of departing from gain, fatigue, feverish affliction, and either retreating from or failing to generate vigor; this is the ninth dedication.
