「正語業命翻此應知」者，義便兼明。《正理》云「何緣業道中先身後語，於八道支內先語後身？以業道中隨麁、細說，道支次第據順相生故。契經云：尋、伺已發語。」

[On the phrase] “Right speech, action, and livelihood should be understood as the reverse of this”: by convenience of meaning, this is also clarified. The *Nyāyānusāra* says: “For what reason, among the courses of karma, is body first and speech second, whereas within the eight path-factors (aṣṭāṅga-mārga), speech is first and body second? Because among the courses of karma they are spoken of according to coarse and subtle, whereas the order of the path-factors is based on sequential arising. The sūtra says: ‘Having applied thought (vitarka) and sustained thought (vicāra), one utters speech.’”
