8.42

如是二答皆不令解，不知何人姓名何等故不令解。論主答問應知亦爾，我問論主三界繫法，答言於中隨增三界貪者。復問何法名三界貪，復答我言謂三界中各隨增者。如是二答皆不令解，不知何法是三界繫，不知何法是三界貪。答不分明，同縛馬答。

These two replies both fail to bring about understanding, for one still does not know who the person is or what their name is, and thus they bring no understanding. One should know that the author of the treatise answering the question is also like this: I asked the author of the treatise about the dharmas bound to the three realms, and he answered that they are those in which the attachment of the three realms conforms and increases. I asked again what dharma is called the attachment of the three realms, and he answered me again that it refers to that which individually conforms and increases in the three realms. These two answers both fail to bring about understanding; one does not know what dharma is bound to the three realms, nor what dharma is attachment of the three realms. His answer is indistinct, just like the answer of tying the horse.
