15.77

釋曰：四善者，論主評取說四業家於理為善，但於時中說定不定，釋經所說四業相故。容俱作者，今此四業容一時作，謂於一時自行婬欲、遣使行殺、或盜、或誑，業道齊成，或一感現、或一感生、或一感後、或一不定，一時造四未必皆爾，故說容言。問：「幾業能引眾同分耶？」答：「頌言引同分唯三，於四業中除順現受，現身同分先業引故。」問：「何界何趣？能造幾業？」答：「頌言諸處造四種者已下句共答此問也。總而言之，諸界諸趣，或善或惡，隨其所應，容造四種。」

The explanation says: Regarding "the four are good", the author of the śāstra appraises and accepts the master who propounds the four karmas as sound in principle, because he only speaks of definite and indefinite with respect to time, thus explaining the characteristics of the four karmas taught in the sūtras. Regarding "can be performed together", these four karmas can be performed at one time: that is, at one time one personally engages in sexual misconduct, sends an envoy to kill, or steals, or speaks falsely, and the karmapathas are completed together; or one induces [fruition in] the present, one induces [it in] the next life, one induces [it in] subsequent lives, or one is indefinite. That all four are created at one time is not necessarily always the case, hence the word "can" is used. Question: "How many karmas can project commonality of type (nikāyasabhāga)?" Answer: The verse says, "only three project commonality of type"; among the four karmas, that to be experienced in the present is excluded, because the commonality of type of the present life is projected by prior karma. Question: "In which realm and which destiny can how many karmas be created?" Answer: The verse states, "In all states the four kinds are produced"; the lines from here onward answer this question together. In summary, in all realms and all destinies, whether good or evil, according to what is applicable, four kinds can be produced.
