Regarding 'if the Dharma expounded is subsumed under the four reliances, presenting non-inverted discipline and correct conduct': Jing and Ji both state: As it is said, always begging for food, rag robes, dwelling under trees, delighting in abandoning, and delighting in cultivation; because one cultivates the path relying upon these four matters, they are called the four reliances. Tai states: Subsumed under the four reliances of relying on the Dharma and not on the person, and so forth. Now another explanation states: The four reliances are: 1. rag robes; 2. begging for food; 3. sitting under trees; 4. fermented medicine.
