In the summarized meaning, they are subsumed into three. Jing says: 'If it is one’s sphere of practice' summarizes the previously mentioned three kinds of protection for maidens and another's wife; since the sphere protected by another is one’s sphere of practice, it is called 'if it is one’s sphere of practice.' 'Distinctions of practice' summarizes the previous distinctions of practicing misconduct through violence, force, or concealment. 'If it is sexual misconduct' summarizes the transgression committed against one's own wife in improper passages, times, or places. Ji says: 'If it is one’s sphere of practice' subsumes the first six clauses, because the place practiced also constitutes a fault. Second, 'distinctions of practice' subsumes the next three clauses, because it is improper practice. Third, 'if it is sexual misconduct' subsumes the last two clauses, because they constitute the path of action. This master separately takes self-protection as the second clause; thus they combine into eleven clauses, or they are stated as ten clauses, as explained above.
