第二十一段六頌釋中分六，如是總名諸欲愛味已上釋初頌，第二又彼希求下釋第二頌，第三又復毒蛇下釋第三頌，第四又諸欲自性下釋第四頌，第五又於事欲下釋第五頌，第六若於諸欲下釋第六頌。

In the explanation of the twenty-first section containing six verses, there are six divisions: the passage up to "these are collectively termed the gratification in the desires" explains the first verse; the second part, from "furthermore, seeking them..." onward, explains the second verse; the third part, from "furthermore, like a poisonous snake..." onward, explains the third verse; the fourth part, from "furthermore, the intrinsic nature of the desires..." onward, explains the fourth verse; the fifth part, from "furthermore, with respect to the desires as objective things..." onward, explains the fifth verse; and the sixth part, from "if regarding the desires..." onward, explains the sixth verse.
