八、終不請外道為師起福田相，九於他沙門婆羅門等終不觀瞻口及顏面乃至得無所畏者，謂不信他道出家受學，唯以法智見法類智得法於大師教生決定信，故於諸法中得無可畏。

Eighth, he never invites non-Buddhists to be his masters or conceives them as fields of merit. Ninth, regarding other śramaṇas, brāhmaṇas, and so forth, he never gazes at their mouths and faces, up to attaining fearlessness—meaning that he does not have faith in other paths to go forth and receive learning, but solely by means of the cognition of phenomena sees phenomena, and by subsequent cognition of phenomena realizes phenomena, generating determinate faith in the Great Master's teaching; therefore he attains fearlessness among all phenomena.
