11.80

論云「又諸菩薩應時而施，不以非時」者，謂飢食施食，不施衣等；熱時施冷，不施火等。　「自他清淨，非不清淨」者，謂不見授者、受者。　「合儀而施，不以非儀」，謂不施彼刀、毒、酒等。「無亂心施」，其義可知。

The treatise says: "Moreover, bodhisattvas give at the proper time, not at an improper time": this means when hungry, one gives food, not clothing and the like; when hot, one gives coolness, not fire and the like. / "Purity of self and other, not impurity" means not seeing the giver or the recipient. / "Giving in accordance with propriety, not with impropriety" means not giving him knives, poison, alcohol, and the like. / "Giving with an undistracted mind": its meaning can be known.
