Regarding the treatise's explanation of relying on wisdom and not relying on consciousness, and so forth: hearing and reflection are wisdom; why does one not rely on them? Explanation: Although they are wisdom, they are distracted wisdom; because they are not yet complete, they cannot be relied upon. If that is so, worldly [wisdom] should not be relied upon. Explanation: It also cannot be relied upon; for now they are contrasted among the three prajñās. As for what is not relied upon now, the treatise speaks only of hearing and reflection, but within the true wisdom cultivated [through meditation], there are also those that are not relied upon.
