Regarding "births without sex organs, with two sex organs, and so forth": these include all other births outside of the seven births of the first fruit. "Either craving or aspiration": craving is of two kinds: first, that which initiates karma; second, that which moistens rebirth. The craving that moistens rebirth is still possessed by noble ones; what is absent here is that which initiates karma. The Great Master said: craving is of two kinds: first, conceptual discrimination through verbal ideation; second, moistening rebirth. That which moistens rebirth is still possessed; that which is conceptual discrimination through verbal ideation is absent. Aspiration is of the class of craving, subsumed under the affliction of craving. According to the text, it is only except for seeds of ignorance that have not yet been perpetually destroyed without remainder; aspiration is craving. Alternatively, aspiration means aspiring to be born in the heavens and so forth, which are all causes of saṃsāra, and therefore noble ones do not give rise to them.
