The summarized meaning concluding the fourteen phrases has three parts: first, "because of stealing this," taking what is not given is accomplished, which refers to the preceding first phrase, "in what belongs to others"; second, "if in that place, according to its distinctions, one genuinely plunders," which refers to the next eleven phrases; third, "because of plundering, one incurs this fault," which refers to the thirteenth and fourteenth phrases. It is also explained as five conclusions: first, "because of stealing this" concludes the fifth and sixth phrases; second, "if in that place" concludes the first four phrases; third, "according to its distinctions" concludes from the eighth phrase down to the thirteenth phrase; fourth, "genuinely plunders" concludes the seventh phrase; fifth, "because of plundering, one incurs this fault" concludes the fourteenth phrase. Although this explanation exists, its meaning is at first difficult to grasp; yet if one investigates the meaning and deduces it from the text, it can also be known. For the culmination of the path of action of taking what is not given, it is required that [the item] either grows, is hoarded, or is moved from its original place; otherwise, it merely constitutes the preliminary application of taking what is not given. Therefore, the Abhidharmasamuccaya states that culmination means taking it as one's own.
