The treatise says: “Question: ‘Among these wholesome dharmas, how many are conventionally existent? How many are substantially existent?’ Answer: ‘Three are conventionally existent: apramāda, upekṣā, and ahiṃsā.’ Why is this? Apramāda and upekṣā are portions of alobha, adveṣa, amoha, and vīrya; for in the sense of these dharmas being detached from defilement, they are established as upekṣā; and in the sense of their remedying defilement, they are established as apramāda. Ahiṃsā is simply a portion of adveṣa, and therefore has no separate substantial entity. Among the six kleśas, five are substantially existent: rāga, pratigha, moha, māna, and vicikitsā. One is conventionally existent: improper view (dṛṣṭi).”
