Eighth is fallacious inference (anumānābhāsa): falsely raising grounds and analogies, mistakenly establishing an erroneous thesis, so that contradictory cognition arises; it is called fallacious inference. (Falsely raising reason and example, mistakenly establishing an erroneous thesis, compliant cognition does not arise, and contradictory understanding immediately arises. Even if what is to be established were accomplished, this and that would clash, producing divergent conceptualizations; this is called fallacious inference.) The words "as well as their fallacies" and so on are all to be explained according to the preceding.
