院主遊石室回，雲巖問：「汝去入到石室裏許，為祇恁麼便回？」院主無對。師代云：「彼中已有人占了也。」雲巖云：「汝更去作甚麼？」師云：「不可人情斷絕去也。」

The monastery director returned from roaming the stone grottos. Yunyan asked, "Did you go and enter inside the stone grottos, or did you just return like this?" The monastery director gave no answer. The Master spoke on his behalf, saying, "Someone has already occupied it there." Yunyan said, "What will you go do further?" The Master said, "Human feelings cannot be severed."
