The Master sometimes said, "When the light does not penetrate clearly, there are two kinds of sickness: nowhere is clear, and there is an object in front of one—this is the first. Again, having penetrated through the emptiness of all dharmas, yet dimly there seems to be something present—this too is the light not penetrating clearly. Also, the dharmakāya has two kinds of sickness: having attained the dharmakāya, because attachment to dharmas is not forgotten and one's own views still remain, one sits by the side of the dharmakāya—this is the first. Even if one penetrates through the dharmakāya, letting it pass by will not do; examining it closely, what trace of breath is there?—this too is a sickness."
