上堂：「秋江清淺時，白鷺和烟島，良哉觀世音，全身入荒草。且出草一句作麼生道？寰中天子勅，草舍家風別。」

Ascending the hall: “When the autumn river is clear and shallow, / White egrets blend with the misty islets. / Excellent indeed, Avalokiteśvara, / With whole body entering the wild grass! / And how do you speak a phrase of emerging from the grass? The emperor's edict within the realm; / The family style in the thatched hut is distinct.”
