3.90

舉僧辭大隨。隨問。什麼處去。僧云。峩眉禮普賢去。隨竪起拂子云。文殊普賢祇在這裏。僧畫一圓相拋向背後。隨云。侍者將一貼茶與這僧。師云。識法者懼。欺敵者亡。水中擇乳。須是鵝王。

[The Master] cited: A monk took leave of Dasui. Dasui asked, "Where are you going?" The monk said, "I am going to Mount Emei to pay homage to Samantabhadra." Dasui held up his fly-whisk and said, "Mañjuśrī and Samantabhadra are right here." The monk drew a circle and threw it behind his back. Dasui said, "Attendant, bring a packet of tea and give it to this monk." The Master said, "One who knows the law is fearful; one who underestimates the enemy perishes. To separate milk from water, it takes the goose king."
