Yuanzhao resided at Lingzhi and propagated the Vinaya, but paid special attention to Pure Land practice. One day, gathering his disciples, he chanted the Contemplation Sūtra and the Samantabhadra-caryā-praṇidhāna-parivarta, sat cross-legged, and passed away. The fishermen on the West Lake all heard music in the sky.
