During the reign of Emperor Hui of the Jin, there was also the upāsaka Wei Shidu, who translated the Aṣṭasāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā-sūtra in two fascicles. Shidu was originally a man of Jijun in Sizhou, submerged in a poor and humble family; content with poverty and delighting in the Way, he always kept the Buddhadharma in his heart. On the day of his death, he bathed and rinsed in purity, recited more than a thousand words of sūtras, and then, drawing his garments over himself and lying corpse-like, he peacefully passed away.
