搏撮（上補各反廣雅搏擊也玉篇拍也拊也下倉捋反字林切韻手取也廣雅持也釋名撮卒也謂暫卒取也玉篇四圭日撮又三指撮有作子括反音非此義切韻手把作攥子活反）。

搏撮 (*bo cuo* [strike and grasp]: for the first, *bu* + *ge* fanqie; *Guangya*: "搏 means to strike"; *Yupian*: "to clap, to slap"; the second is *cang* + *lüan* fanqie; *Zilin* and *Qieyun*: "to take with the hand"; *Guangya*: "to hold"; *Shiming*: "撮 means sudden [*cu*], namely to take suddenly for a moment"; *Yupian*: "four *gui* make a *cuo*; also, to pinch with three fingers"; some read it as *zi* + *kuo* fanqie, but that sound does not bear this meaning; *Qieyun*: grasping with the hand is written 攥, *zi* + *huo* fanqie).
