橋橃（上強驕反集訓云津濟河梁也說文亦梁也從木喬聲下煩發反正體字也韻英云縛竹木浮於水上曰橃亦如舟船能濟渡人之水厄說文從木發聲或從舟作𦪑經文作栰或從竹作筏並俗字非正也）。

橋橃 (*qiáofá*, bridges and rafts; the upper character has the fanqie 強驕 [*qiáng* + *jiāo*]. The *Jixun* says: "A ferry across a river beam." The *Shuowen* also says: "A beam; it is composed of 木 with 喬 as phonetic." The lower character has the fanqie 煩發 [*fán* + *fā*], which is the standard form. The *Yunying* says: "Binding bamboo or wood to float upon water is called *fá*; like a boat, it can ferry people across perils of water." The *Shuowen* says: "It is composed of 木 with 發 as phonetic." It is also written with the boat radical as 𦪑. In the sūtra text it is written as 栰, or with the bamboo radical as 筏, both of which are popular forms and not standard).
