詭滑（上歸委反毛詩云無縱詭隨鄭箋云無聽放詭而隨人為惡也淮南子云蘇秦以百詭成一信許叔重曰詭猶慢也說文責也從言危聲下還八反說文云滑利也從水從骨聲也）。

詭滑 (Deceitful and crafty): The first character is read fanqie *gu[ī]-[w]ěi* [guǐ]. The *Mao Poetry* states: 'Do not follow the deceitful and compliant.' Zheng's commentary states: 'Do not indulge deceit and follow others in doing evil.' The *Huainanzi* states: 'Su Qin used a hundred deceits to achieve one trust.' Xu Shuzhong (Xu Shen) says: '詭 (*guǐ*) is like remiss/deceitful.' The *Shuowen jiezi* states: 'It means to reproach; it is classified under the radical *yán* (speech) with *wēi* (危) phonetic.' The second character is read fanqie *hu[án]-[b]ā* [huá]. The *Shuowen jiezi* states: '滑 (*huá*) means slippery/crafty; it is classified under the radical *shuǐ* (water) with *gǔ* (骨) phonetic.'
