舛闕（上川兖反司馬彪注莊子云舛駁之言許叔重注淮南子云舛相背也顧野王云差舛不齊等也說文云舛對臥也從夕從[(巨-匚)*(十/十)]相背也會意字也傳文作舛通也）。

舛闕 (Discrepancies and lacunae): The first character is read fanqie *chu[ān]-[y]ǎn* [chuǎn]. Sima Biao's commentary on the *Zhuangzi* states: 'Erroneous and contradictory words.' Xu Shuzhong's commentary on the *Huainanzi* states: '舛 (*chuǎn*) means turned against one another.' Gu Yewang states: 'Irregular and uneven.' The *Shuowen jiezi* states: '舛 means lying feet-to-feet; it is composed of 夕 and [(巨-匚)*(十/十)] back to back; it is an associative compound.' Transmitted texts write 舛, which is acceptable.
