盪瘵（上徒朗反易云盪滌也又洗除也說文從皿湯聲皿明丙反傳文作蕩非下齋薤反毛詩傳云瘵病也爾雅亦病也從疒祭聲）。

盪瘵 (The first character has the fanqie 徒朗 [tú + lǎng]. The Yijing states: '盪 means to wash/cleanse; also to scour away.' The Shuowen jiezi states: 'Derived from 皿 [vessel] with 湯 as phonetic.' 皿 has the fanqie 明丙 [míng + bǐng]. In transmitted texts it is written 蕩, which is incorrect. The second character has the fanqie 齋薤 [zhāi + xiè]. The Mao Shijing Commentary states: '瘵 means illness.' The Erya also defines it as illness; derived from 疒 [sickness] with 祭 as phonetic).
