Grieving (惄焉: the first character is [pronounced with the fanqie] ning + li; the Mao commentary to the Shijing says that ni means "sorrow"; the Erya says: "Thinking [念] and grieving [惄] mean longing"; the Shuowen says it means "anxiety," formed from heart [心] with shu as phonetic; the standard form of shu is the character [?*十]).
