The above, from the Great Dharma King Sūtra downward, comprises twenty-two works in eighty-seven fascicles. These are spurious sūtras found in the Inner Canon Catalogue compiled by Śramaṇa Daoxuan of Ximing Temple in the capital during the first year of the Linde reign era of the Great Tang. Xuan stated: "Various spurious sūtras and treatises frequently appear among the scriptures preserved in the human realm. The texts are still numerous; I await seeing them before recording further."
(The compiler notes: In the Inner Canon Catalogue there is also the Sūtra on the Entrustment in the Golden Coffin, one fascicle, which is none other than the Sūtra on Reverencing Blessings in Fajing's catalogue; hence it is not recorded here again. In addition, the Sūtra on Divining the Requital of Good and Bad Actions and the Treatise on the Bequeathed Teaching both have reliable records of their translation and transmission, and their text and doctrinal meaning are respectable; to classify them as spurious was unacceptable, so they have already been incorporated into the orthodox catalogue and are not recorded here.)
